Borussia Dortmund player ratings from 2-0 defeat to RB Leipzig
By Tushar Bahl
Marius Wolf (4/10)
After weeks of encouraging performances, Marius Wolf had a game to forget against RB Leipzig. The right-back looked to be off the pace and had all sorts of problems while trying to defend against Dani Olmo and Timo Werner. His decision making was questionable at best, and he was subbed off at half time.
Niklas Süle (4/10)
Süle struggled in the first half and was caught ball watching in the build-up to Timo Werner’s goal. He put in a slightly improved performance in the second half, and also played some neat forward passes.
Mats Hummels (4/10)
Hummels made a solid start but was beaten for pace time and time again in the first half, including in the lead-up to Leipzig’s opening goal. Borussia Dortmund reverted to a back three after the break, and the veteran centre-back looked a lot more comfortable with Emre Can there to help support him.
Julian Ryerson (4/10)
Ryerson had a difficult time while trying to cope with RB Leipzig’s intensity in attack in the first half. The Norwegian international always appeared to be a step behind, and wasn’t able to keep things tight defensively. He looked a lot better after switching to right-back in the second half.
