Borussia Dortmund player ratings from 3-3 draw vs Stuttgart
By Tushar Bahl
Julian Ryerson (4/10)
Ryerson started ahead of Marius Wolf and struggled all game long at right-back. Chris Führich caused him all sorts of problems in the first half. And he gave Tanguy Coulibaly way too much space and time to cut inside from the wing and score Stuttgart’s first goal.
Emre Can (4/10)
Emre Can was not directly at fault for any of Stuttgart’s goals. But as a leader in the team, he failed to organise the defence properly in the second half. Borussia Dortmund needed him to lead from the front. But he failed to step up, and chaos ensued.
Mats Hummels (6/10)
Despite struggling to cope with Stuttgart’s pace at times, Hummels looked quite solid in defence for the most part. Most notably, the veteran centre-back made a crucial tackle to stop a dangerous looking Stuttgart counter attack early on. He was taken off at half time, and the Borussia Dortmund defence completely disintegrated without him towards the end.
Raphael Guerreiro (4/10)
Guerreiro set up the early chance for Sebastien Haller. But he had a lot of problems defensively against Josha Vagnoman. His positioning in the lead-up to Stuttgart’s second goal was poor. And he was nowhere to be seen in the build-up to Silas’ 97th minute equaliser.
