Ajax are reportedly interested in bringing talented striker Julian Rijkhoff back to the club, two years after his move to Borussia Dortmund.

Julian Rijkhoff is enjoying an excellent season with the Borussia Dortmund U-19s, and has established himself as one of the team’s most exciting young players. The 18 year old has scored 25 goals in just 28 appearances for the young Black and Yellows this season.

Rijkhoff recently scored four goals for the Borussia Dortmund U-19s in the first leg of their U-19s Bundesliga semi-final tie against Hertha Berlin. And he is already catching the interest of other clubs.

According to BILD, AFC Ajax want to sign Rijkhoff at all costs in the summer. They are keen to bring him back to the club and have already made contact with his representatives. The young Dutch striker joined Borussia Dortmund from Ajax in 2021 for a training compensation fee. He signed a long-term contract extension with BVB in February.

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl told BILD that they are closely following the development of Julian Rijkhoff, and they will hold talks with his agent after the end of the current season to discuss the next steps in his development.

Rijkhoff has yet to make his first-team debut for Borussia Dortmund. But the Netherlands U-18s international is rated very highly by those in charge at the club. And if he keeps performing like he has done so far this season, he will no doubt get a chance to impress for Edin Terzic’s side in the coming months.
