Missed chances cost Borussia Dortmund dearly as they were held to a 1-1 draw by VfL Bochum in a fiery derby clash on Friday evening.
Borussia Dortmund’s away-day misery continued on Friday as they dropped points against local rivals VfL Bochum, handing the advantage in the Bundesliga title race back to Bayern Munich. Despite dominating the game, the Black and Yellows missed a host of big chances and were also left frustrated by some controversial refereeing decisions.
But ultimately, Borussia Dortmund only have themselves to blame for failing to get the three points against a Bochum side that has conceded 67 goals this season.
VfL Bochum actually took the lead in the 5th minute through Anthony Losilla, only for Karim Adeyemi to tap home the equaliser less than two minutes later. But neither side was able to find the winning goal in the end. Here are our player ratings for the Borussia Dortmund players from their 1-1 draw against VfL Bochum.
Gregor Kobel (6/10)
Kobel did not have much to deal with over the course of the 90 minutes. He was unlucky to concede early on and had a fairly quiet game after that, with Bochum happy to defend deep.
