Report: Borussia Dortmund could look to sell Gio Reyna in the summer
By Tushar Bahl
Borussia Dortmund could potentially look to sell Gio Reyna as part of their summer clear out, according to reports in Germany.
Gio Reyna has fallen out of favour at Borussia Dortmund this season, and a move away from the club could be in the offing for him. According to SportBILD, the USMNT international is one of the players BVB could look to sell this summer to raise funds and make room for new signings.
Reyna has endured a difficult 12 months, dominated by the USMNT controversy surrounding him. The 20 year old has lost his spot in the BVB starting XI, and has been limited to just one start since the turn of the year.
And with the highly rated Julien Duranville and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens expected to play a bigger role in the first-team next season, it is unlikely that Reyna’s situation will change if he stays at the club.
Despite his lack of appearances, Reyna has still managed to make a decent impact when called upon by Edin Terzic. He has scored six goals in the Bundesliga this season in just 561 minutes of playing time.
Gio Reyna, who has made a total of 104 appearances for Borussia Dortmund, still has more than two years left on his current contract. And it will be interesting to see what the future holds for him.
SportBILD list Thomas Meunier, Thorgan Hazard and Nico Schulz as the other players Borussia Dortmund will look to sell this summer. Felix Passlack and Anthony Modeste are also set to leave the club at the end of the season.
