Mahmoud Dahoud is reportedly close to agreeing a deal to join Brighton & Hove Albion when his contract with Borussia Dortmund expires at the end of the season.

The future of Mahmoud Dahoud is close to being resolved, with the Borussia Dortmund midfielder closing in on a move to Brighton & Hove Albion. Multiple reports in England and Germany now claim that talks are at a very advanced stage, and the 27 year old is on the verge of reaching an agreement with the English Premier League side.

A number of English Premier League clubs had shown an interest in signing Dahoud, including Newcastle United and Leicester City. But now it appears that Brighton will win the race for his signature. The Germany international has reportedly already successfully completed his medical examinations, and the move will likely be made official in the coming days or weeks.

Dahoud’s time at Borussia Dortmund will come to an end this summer, six years after he joined the club from Borussia Mönchengladbach.

BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl announced in February that they will not be extending the midfielder’s expiring contract, and he will leave the club on a free transfer in the summer.

Mahmoud Dahoud has made a total of 141 appearances for Borussia Dortmund, and was an important part of the team before a shoulder injury forced him to miss the majority of the first half of this season. He made his return to training after the winter break, but has hardly been used since then by Edin Terzic.
