Report: Borussia Dortmund players expect Raphael Guerreiro to leave this summer

There are growing fears that Raphael Guerreiro could leave Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Raphael Guerreiro’s future at Borussia Dortmund is uncertain at the moment, with just over one month left on his current contract. The Black and Yellows would like to extend the left-back’s contract and have already submitted an offer to him. But Sport1 claim that the BVB bosses are yet to hear back from Guerreiro.
The report adds that most of the Borussia Dortmund players expect Guerreiro to reject the club’s contract offer and leave when his contract expires at the end of the season. And furniture packers were also spotted in front of his house recently, which could indicate that he is planning to leave BVB in the summer.
A player of Guerreiro’s quality will no doubt attract the interest of plenty of big clubs if he decides to leave Borussia Dortmund and makes himself available on a free transfer. The Portuguese international joined BVB in 2016 and has been a key part of the team for the last seven years.
It has been an up and down season so far for Raphael Guerreiro. But he is still among the top creators in the Bundesliga, and has the most assists in the league this season (12). The 29 year old, who can also play in midfield, has scored a further five goals in 34 appearances across all competitions so far this season.
Guerreiro has indicated in the past that he is very happy at Borussia Dortmund, and would be open to signing a contract extension. But with BVB set to sign Ramy Bensebaini on a free transfer, it remains to be seen what the future holds for Guerreiro beyond the end of the season.
