The Bundesliga title race will be decided on the final day of the season, with Borussia Dortmund holding a two point lead over Bayern Munich heading into matchday 34.

Bayern Munich’s shock defeat to RB Leipzig gave Borussia Dortmund the opportunity to claw their way back into the top spot in the Bundesliga standings. And they took full advantage by claiming a 3-0 win over FC Augsburg on Sunday. The Black and Yellows now have 70 points, and are two points clear of their title rivals.

But this has been a Bundesliga campaign full of twists and turns, and we are all set for a dramatic end to the season this weekend. The destination of the Meisterschale will be decided on Saturday, and here we break down all the permutations going into the final day of the season.

Borussia Dortmund’s two point lead over Bayern Munich means that they are back in control of their own destiny. Match or better the Bavarians’ result this weekend, and Edin Terzic’s side will win the Bundesliga title for the first time in 11 years.

A win for Borussia Dortmund this weekend would take them to 73 points and they will be crowned Bundesliga champions, regardless of how Bayern Munich perform this weekend.

But Borussia Dortmund will also know that they cannot afford to take their foot off the gas on Saturday. If BVB only manage a draw against Mainz 05 and Thomas Tuchel’s side beat FC Köln, the two sides would be locked on 71 points. The title would then head to Bayern, thanks to their superior goal difference.

If Borussia Dortmund lose to Mainz 05 this weekend, Bayern Munich will clinch the Bundesliga title if they manage to beat Köln.
