Jürgen Klopp is hoping that Borussia Dortmund can finally end their 11 year wait and win the Bundesliga title this weekend.

A massive game awaits Borussia Dortmund this weekend as they take on Mainz 05 on the final matchday of the Bundesliga season. The Black and Yellows currently hold a two point lead over Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga standings, and will win the title if they manage to beat the 05ers this weekend.

Former Borussia Dortmund head coach Jürgen Klopp was asked to give his thoughts on the Bundesliga title race during his pre-match press conference on Friday. And the Liverpool manager admitted that he is nervous ahead of the title decider. He added that he knows just what winning the Bundesliga would mean to the club and the city.

"“I’m a bit nervous to be honest,” Klopp said. “I can say in this case I will be happy if Dortmund beat Mainz, for once. I hope Dortmund will win, I think it’s been long enough. I know Edin (Terzic) really well, I know a lot of people very well at Dortmund. I know what it would mean to the city and in general.”“I can imagine Bayern see it differently but it’s not fun if the same team always becomes the champion and we all know Bayern will strike back next year anyway.”“It is a big one and I just hope that they can get through it, it would be massive.”"

Both of Klopp’s former clubs will go head to head on Saturday. The 55 year old began his coaching career with Mainz 05, before joining Borussia Dortmund in 2008.

Bayern Munich have won the Bundesliga title for ten straight seasons since Klopp led Borussia Dortmund to back-to-back Bundesliga titles in 2011 and 2012. But Edin Terzic’s side have an excellent opportunity to finally put an end to that streak and lift the Meisterschale this weekend.
