Emre Can (3/10)

Emre Can had a first half to forget and was partially at fault for both of Mainz’s goals. His poor positioning proved to be very costly, as Mainz threatened to score every time they ventured forward. He found some stability after the break, but the damage had already been done.

Raphael Guerreiro (6/10)

Guerreiro wasn’t as effective as he has been so far this season, but still managed to make his presence felt in the final third. He created a couple of decent chances for his teammates and also made it 2-1 with a well taken strike in the 69th minute.

Julian Brandt (3/10)

Brandt struggled to find his rhythm and his poor decision making in the final third left everyone frustrated. He wasn’t able to help his side find a way past the well drilled Mainz defence and was taken off at the hour mark.
