Report: Young duo expected to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer
Borussia Dortmund could part ways with young duo Soumaila Coulibaly and Jayden Braaf in the summer transfer window.
Squad planning for next season is already underway at Borussia Dortmund, who are set for another busy transfer window. According to Ruhr Nachrichten, Soumaila Coulibaly and Jayden Braaf are both expected to leave the club this summer after failing to make their mark in the first-team.
Soumaila Coulibaly made his first-team debut against FC Copenhagen earlier this season. His second appearance came in the 3-3 draw against VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga, and he noticeably struggled in that game.
The 19 year old has had to deal with a number of injury problems since joining Borussia Dortmund from Paris St. Germain in 2021, and has mostly featured for the U-23s in the 3. Liga.
Jayden Braaf joined Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer from Manchester City last summer. It was hoped that the talented winger’s move to BVB could help him realise his potential after months of injury struggles. But the move hasn’t worked out so far.
Borussia Dortmund were open to the sale of Braaf just six months after his arrival, before he ended up joining Hellas Verona on a loan deal. But he wasn’t able to make any impact in Italy either. Ruhr Nachrichten add that the BVB bosses have no interest in bringing him back to the club, and will look to sell him this summer.
The newspaper also claims that Antonios Papadopoulos could leave Borussia Dortmund this summer, especially if they decide to sign a new centre-back. The 23 year old has a number of offers from clubs abroad.
