Borussia Dortmund will officially begin their preparations for the 2023/24 season on July 5 when the players return for pre-season training.
After the heartbreaking end to the 2022/23 season, Borussia Dortmund will now turn their attentions to the new campaign. The Black and Yellows will be determined to fight for the Bundesliga title once again next season. And Ruhr Nachrichten are reporting that they will begin their title bid on July 5.
The Borussia Dortmund players will turn up to the club’s training ground to undergo medical checks and performance diagnostic tests, before stepping onto the pitch to begin training for the new season.
Edin Terzic will initially have to make do without some key players, as a number of big names will be away with their respective national teams till late June. Youssoufa Moukoko may well have to miss a large chunk of pre-season, as he has been named in the Germany U-21s squad for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship (June 21-July 8).
Borussia Dortmund will also travel to the United States this summer for a pre-season tour. This will be BVB’s fourth trip to the United States, and they will play friendly matches against Manchester United (Las Vegas, July 30) and Chelsea (Chicago, August 3).
More pre-season fixtures will be announced by the club in due course. Unlike most seasons, BVB will not be traveling to Switzerland for a training camp this summer.
The 2023/24 season will get underway with the first round of the DFB-Pokal on August 11. Borussia Dortmund will then begin their Bundesliga campaign on August 19.
