Borussia Dortmund are reportedly willing to listen to offers for Emre Can, who has just over 12 months left on his current contract.

Emre Can played a vital role in Borussia Dortmund’s title charge in the second half of the recently concluded season. But his future at the club could be thrown into doubt, with Ruhr Nachrichten reporting that the Black and Yellows would be willing to consider selling the midfielder this summer if a lucrative offer was to arrive.

Can’s current contract with BVB is set to expire at the end of next season, and the newspaper claims that an extension does not appear to be in sight at the moment. Of course, that could change in the coming months, especially if the 29 year old stays and enjoys a strong start to the new season.

It remains to be seen if Borussia Dortmund would actually be willing to sell Emre Can, considering they are already set to lose the likes of Jude Bellingham, Mahmoud Dahoud and Raphael Guerreiro this summer. But the BVB bosses are chasing the signature of Edson Álvarez, who could potentially replace Can in defensive midfield.

Emre Can joined Borussia Dortmund in January 2020 on an initial loan deal from Juventus, and his move was made permanent in the following summer. The former Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen player made a total 38 appearances for BVB this season. And his impressive turnaround in form in the second half of the season also helped him regain his place in the Germany squad.
