Lucas Beraldo (19, CB, São Paulo)

São Paulo’s academy work is undoubtedly one of the most structured in the country, which usually results in some very exciting gems. Lucas Beraldo, or simply Beraldo, is a prolific talent in the centre-back position, and is regarded as one of the best young players in the country.

Beraldo is a left-footed defender with strong ball skills and good positioning, typically what Borussia Dortmund look for in the centre-back position. The ability to move the ball up the pitch and support the build-up are skillsets Beraldo can bring to the Westfalenstadion.

Even though Nico Schlotterbeck had ups and downs during his debut season in Dortmund, he is the future for both club and country. But with Mats Hummels nearing the end of his career, it may not be a bad idea for BVB to consider a player like Beraldo for the future, especially for the price of 2.5 million euros, according to Transfermarkt.
