Borussia Dortmund will be in Pot 2 for the UEFA Champions League group stage draw, and could face some tough tests in the competition.
The pots have been set for the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League group stage draw, which will take place on August 31. Borussia Dortmund will be in Pot 2 for the draw, and may well have to overcome some difficult challenges if they want to qualify for the round of 16.
The likes of Real Madrid, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Inter Milan are also in Pot 2. And since teams in the same pot cannot be drawn against each other, Borussia Dortmund will avoid having to face them in the group stage. This also means that there will be no reunion with Jude Bellingham in the CL group stage.
But the Black and Yellows could still face the likes of Manchester City, FC Barcelona, Napoli and Paris Saint-Germain, who are all in Pot 1. Bayern Munich are also in Pot 1, but teams from the same national association cannot be drawn in the same group.
AC Milan, Lazio and RB Salzburg are among the teams in Pot 3, and can be drawn against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League group stage. Edin Terzic’s side could also face Newcastle United, who are expected to be in Pot 4.
A total of 26 teams have already qualified for the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League group stage. Qualifying rounds will take place to determine the remaining six teams.
