Borussia Dortmund trio Emre Can, Marius Wolf, and Julian Brandt all featured as Germany fell to a shock 2-0 defeat to Colombia on Tuesday.

Germany ended their international break with another deflating performance and result, as they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Colombia. Hansi Flick’s side delivered another sloppy and lacklustre performance, and second half goals from Luis Díaz and Juan Cuadrado consigned them to a 2-0 defeat.

Borussia Dortmund duo Emre Can and Marius Wolf were in the Germany starting XI on Tuesday, with the former playing in the back three and the latter featuring at right wing-back. Julian Brandt came off the bench in the 79th minute, and Nico Schlotterbeck was an unused substitute.

Nothing went right for the 2014 World Cup winners in Gelsenkirchen on Tuesday, as they failed to create any big chances and could only muster up one shot on target over the course of the 90 minutes.

Germany have now won just four of their last 16 matches, and are winless in their last four games – a very worrying trend ahead of the European Championships on home soil next year.

BVB full-back Julian Ryerson was also in action on Tuesday, as Norway beat Cyprus 3-1 to finally register their first win of the Euro 2024 qualifiers. Ola Solbakken gave Norway the lead, before former Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland netted a brace to seal the win.

Norway are currently third in the Group A standings, eight points behind leaders Scotland. And their hopes of playing in the European Championships are hanging in the balance.
