Season Awards: The Highlights of Borussia Dortmund’s 2022/2023 Journey

Rising Star: Youssoufa Moukoko

Unbelievably, not many young players made a significant impact for Dortmund this season, which is quite unusual for the club. Youssoufa Moukoko was the exception in this case however. His performances had enough highlights to excite fans and have them relishing the prospect of what he could bring to the team’s future. For that reason, he is deservedly our Rising Star winner of the 2022/2023 season.

Moukoko had seven goals and six assists in all competitions this season, but please don’t forget: he is only 18. Moukoko has much more to show for Borussia Dortmund, and this season was a great step up for the young German. He not only scored important goals, like the winning goal in the Revierderby at the Signal Iduna Park, but his form also granted him a call-up to the 2022 World Cup. He will now spearhead Germany’s charge during the U-21 Euros, where he will likely give viewers yet another glimpse of why he is heavily considered the next big German striker.
