Borussia Dortmund have extended the contract of Ole Pohlmann, with the young midfielder putting pen to paper on a two year deal.
Ole Pohlmann has signed his first professional contract with Borussia Dortmund after enjoying an impressive season with the U-23s. The 22 year old has signed a two year contract with BVB, and will now hope to make the step up to the first-team.
Borussia Dortmund signed Pohlmann from VfL Wolfsburg in 2021 for a fee in the region of 100,000 euros. He has made a total of 68 appearances for the BVB U-23s since then, and also played a key role in helping them avoid relegation from the 3. Liga last season.
The former Germany U-18s international scored three goals and assisted a further eight in 31 appearances in the 3. Liga last season. And he has now been rewarded with a professional contract.
Pohlmann said that he hopes to play for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga one day. The club has announced that he will wear the number 30 shirt starting from next season.
"“I am overjoyed to have been given the opportunity at BVB and to sign my professional contract. I will keep stepping on the gas every day, would like to thank everyone who has supported me so far, and hope to make my Bundesliga debut here one day,” Pohlmann said."
Ole Pohlmann was primarily used in central midfield last season, but is also capable of playing in the number ten role and out wide. He also gained some first-team experience last year as he was part of the BVB squad for the Asia Tour and the Christmas Cup during the World Cup break.
