Around the Bundesliga: RB Leipzig leading the race to sign Xavi Simons on loan

RB Leipzig could be set to further bolster their squad with the loan signing of Xavi Simons, who has also been linked with Borussia Dortmund.
It has been all change at RB Leipzig this summer, with Marco Rose’s side selling a number of key players. The likes of Christopher Nkunku, Dominik Szoboszlai and Konrad Laimer have all left Leipzig this summer, leading to a major rebuild at the club.
RB Leipzig have already made a number of big signings in recent weeks, bringing in the likes of Loïs Openda, Benjamin Šeško, Christoph Baumgartner, and Fabio Carvalho. And they are now looking to sign highly rated attacking midfielder Xavi Simons on a loan deal.
Multiple reports claim that a loan to RB Leipzig is the likeliest option for Simons, who will first secure a permanent move back to Paris Saint Germain before heading out on a loan deal. The French giants have triggered the €6 million buy-back clause in his PSV Eindhoven contract.
The 20 year old was one of the top performers in the Dutch Eredivisie last season, scoring 22 goals and assisting a further 12 in 48 appearances for PSV Eindhoven.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich remain confident of signing Harry Kane this summer despite Tottenham Hotspur’s unwillingness to sell him.
Uli Hoeneß said on Saturday that the England captain wants to join the reigning Bundesliga champions. Hoeneß added that as long as Kane doesn’t change his mind, Bayern will manage to convince Tottenham to sell him this summer.
Bayern Munich have already completed the signings of Raphael Guerreiro and Konrad Laimer this summer, and are also on the verge of signing Kim Min-jae from Napoli.
