Borussia Dortmund in talks to extend Gregor Kobel’s contract

Talks between Borussia Dortmund and Gregor Kobel over a contract extension for the goalkeeper are said to be ongoing.

The newspaper adds that the Switzerland international received inquiries from a number of big clubs this summer. But he turned them down, as he feels very comfortable in Dortmund.

Gregor Kobel still has three years left on his current Borussia Dortmund contract. The 25 year old currently earns an annual salary of around 3.5 million euros at the club. But a contract extension would see him receive a pay rise, and he would become one of the top earners in the BVB squad.

Borussia Dortmund view Gregor Kobel as an indispensable part of the team, and he is also considered to be one of the leading candidates to become the club’s next captain.
