Highly rated left-back Almugera Kabar is said to be attracting the interest of FC Barcelona, but Borussia Dortmund have no intention of selling him this summer.
Borussia Dortmund have a number of exciting young players in their youth team ranks. And FC Barcelona are apparently looking to sign a top talent from the BVB academy.
According to BILD, the Spanish giants have expressed interest in signing Almugera Kabar from Borussia Dortmund. And talks over a possible transfer are already said to be underway between the club and the player.
But the tabloid adds that Borussia Dortmund have no intention of selling Kabar, who has two years left on his current contract.
The report from BILD further claims that if FC Barcelona sign Kabar this summer, they will look to initially feature him in their second team. But they have already mapped out a pathway to the first-team for the 17 year old.
Almugera Kabar was part of the Germany squad that won the UEFA European Under-17 Championship last month. The talented left-back also impressed for the Borussia Dortmund U-17s last season, and managed three goals and three assists in 18 appearances across all competitions.
Kabar is now set to be promoted to the Borussia Dortmund U-19s team, and will be one of the players to watch in Mike Tullberg’s squad if he decides to spurn the interest of Barcelona. BVB’s long-term plan is to gradually introduce Kabar to the first-team. And it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the young defender.
