Borussia Dortmund are not thinking about signing Leon Goretzka from Bayern Munich, with his salary making him too expensive for the club.

The future of Leon Goretzka has come under doubt in recent weeks, with Bayern Munich reportedly willing to sell the midfielder this summer following the arrival of Konrad Laimer from RB Leipzig. The Germany international is not thinking about a move away from Bayern Munich at the moment. But that could change if he were to lose his spot in the team.

This is being reported by SportBILD, who add that Goretzka would like to stay in the Bundesliga if he were to leave Bayern Munich this summer.

Borussia Dortmund would naturally be the most logical option, and they are looking to further bolster their midfield ranks. But according to the magazine, the Black and Yellows are not interested in signing the 28 year old due to his high wages.

The former Schalke 04 midfielder reportedly earns an annual salary of around 17 million euros at Bayern, which is considerably more than what even the top earners at Borussia Dortmund get. So it is no surprise that BVB are not thinking about signing Goretzka.

SportBILD add that a move abroad could be the most realistic option for Leon Goretzka, with Premier League sides Manchester United and West Ham United said to be interested in signing him.

Goretzka, who joined Bayern Munich in 2018, has three years left on his current contract with the club. He has made a total of 179 appearances for the Bavarian side.
