Borussia Dortmund will face Regionalliga side Rot-Weiß Erfurt on Saturday in what will be their final friendly match before traveling to the United States.
Pre-season preparations continue for Borussia Dortmund on Saturday as they take on fourth division side Rot-Weiß Erfurt at the Steigerwaldstadion. Edin Terzic will hope for a much improved performance from his side in Erfurt, following their sluggish display in the 3-2 win over Rot-Weiß Oberhausen.
Marco Reus has scored in both of Borussia Dortmund’s pre-season matches so far, and is set to start against Erfurt as well. Niklas Süle, Mats Hummels, and Julien Duranville are among the other first-team players who have played in BVB’s first two test matches of the summer.
The players who were on international duty last month could potentially return to the squad on Saturday after missing the trip to Oberhausen. New signings Felix Nmecha and Ramy Bensebaini could also feature. But Gio Reyna and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens are still sidelined with injuries.
Borussia Dortmund are set to head to the United States on Monday, where they will play three more friendly matches. The Black and Yellows will hope to build some momentum ahead of that trip by claiming a straightforward win on Saturday.
