Report: Marcel Sabitzer eyeing Premier League move amid Borussia Dortmund interest
By Tushar Bahl
Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing Marcel Sabitzer, but the Bayern Munich midfielder would prefer to move to the English Premier League.
Marcel Sabitzer is attracting the interest of Borussia Dortmund, who are looking to further bolster their midfield ranks. The Black and Yellows are reportedly willing to offer the Austrian international a 3-4 year contract. But Sport1 claim that Sabitzer has his sights set on a Premier League move and BVB’s interest in signing him is not very concrete at the moment.
The 29 year old spent the second half of last season on loan at Manchester United, where he made 18 appearances and scored three goals. However, Manchester United decided against making the loan deal permenant. And Sabitzer is now back at Bayern for pre-season. According to the report, a number of English Premier League clubs are interested in signing the midfielder.
Sabitzer has never really managed to find his footing at Bayern Munich since joining them in 2021. And the Bavarians are reportedly ready to sell him this summer for a fee of around 15 million euros plus bonuses.
BILD claimed earlier this week that Borussia Dortmund are trying to convince Marcel Sabitzer to join the club. The former RB Leipzig midfielder has plenty of Bundesliga experience under his belt, and has made a total of 185 appearances in the league.
Borussia Dortmund have already signed Felix Nmecha from VfL Wolfsburg this summer. But following the sales of Jude Bellingham, Mahmoud Dahoud and Raphael Guerreiro, they definitely need further reinforcements in the middle of the park going into the new season.
