Borussia Dortmund and Gregor Kobel have held positive talks over contract extension
Positive talks are already said to have taken place between Gregor Kobel and Borussia Dortmund over a contract extension for the goalkeeper.
Borussia Dortmund are looking to extend the contract of Gregor Kobel, and have already had positive talks with his agent. This is being reported by BILD, who add that the goalkeeper would be in line for a substantial pay rise if an agreement can be reached to extend his contract.
Kobel, who joined Borussia Dortmund from VfB Stuttgart for a fee of 15 million euros in 2021, currently has an annual salary of 3.5 million euros. But BILD anticipate that the proposed contract extension would see his salary rise to at least 10 million euros, making him one of the club’s top earners.
There are still three years left on Kobel’s current contract with Borussia Dortmund. But with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Bayern Munich keeping tabs on the Switzerland international, the Black and Yellows will be keen to extend his contract and ensure that he stays at the club for years to come.
Gregor Kobel has enjoyed a meteoric rise since joining Borussia Dortmund, and has established himself as one of the top goalkeepers in the Bundesliga over the last two seasons. He has stated on a number of occasions that he feels comfortable with Borussia Dortmund, and wants to win titles with the club. The goalkeeper will have a crucial role to play in the coming season if Edin Terzic’s side are to challenge for the Bundesliga title.
