Sebastian Kehl has said that Borussia Dortmund could be active again this summer, but there is nothing currently in the pipeline.

Borussia Dortmund have made three signings so far this summer, bringing in Ramy Bensebaini, Felix Nmecha and Marcel Sabitzer following the summer exits of Jude Bellingham, Raphael Guerreiro and Mahmoud Dahoud.

Sporting director Sebastian Kehl is pleased with the transfer business the Black and Yellows have done so far, and he is keeping his options open for the rest of the window.

In order to bring in further reinforcements to the squad this summer, the likelihood is that Borussia Dortmund will first need to sell some players. But Kehl has stated that no sales are planned at the moment.

"“Of course we’re still keeping an eye on the market,” Kehl said during a media round. “We are still relatively early in the transfer season and therefore remain very relaxed. It is possible that some players will leave us. That’s not planned at the moment, and there’s nothing in the pipeline. But it could still happen, and then we would react.”“If we look at our squad as a whole, it’s certainly not too small. It gives us a lot of options in certain areas of our game. I think the coach has several options tactically. Still, we’ll leave things open, I’m not going to announce the end of Borussia Dortmund’s transfer window today.”"

It has been reported in recent months that Borussia Dortmund could look to bring in a new right-back this summer. The arrival of a new back-up centre-back was also touted. But those plans have likely been dashed for now after Soumaïla Coulibaly’s proposed move to Burnley collapsed.

Thorgan Hazard, Thomas Meunier, and Mateu Morey are among the other players who have been linked with a move away from Borussia Dortmund this summer. But the club has yet to receive any concrete offers for them.

The majority of Borussia Dortmund’s transfer business for this summer appears to have already been done. And now it is a matter of playing the waiting game to see if any new opportunities arise to further bolster the squad.
