Borussia Dortmund continued their US tour with a 3-2 pre-season friendly win over Manchester United on Sunday night. Goals from Donyell Malen (x2) and Youssoufa Moukoko secured the win at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Here are three things we learned from the game.

Malen and Adeyemi shine for Borussia Dortmund

A quick-fire double by Donyell Malen before half-time helped Borussia Dortmund turn the game on its head. They were both excellently taken on by the Dutchman. The first goal was created by Karim Adeyemi, turning over full-back Brandon Williams and later setting up Malen to volley it home.

The second goal was created through a defensive error by the United defence, capitalised on by Marcel Sabitzer to play it through to Malen. The impressive first touch on his left to coolly slot it past Tom Heaton gave the Black and Yellows the lead in the match – one they never surrendered back.

Albeit against a weaker United side, both Malen and Adeyemi were able to show their class in the first half. Coupled with Sebastian Haller up front, the duo could comfortably rack up their goal and assist contributions to double figures this season as they are in sync with what Terzic is demanding from them.

In the case of Malen, an injury free season could really knock the inconsistencies out of his game and make for a great year for him in Dortmund colours.
