Young Borussia Dortmund defender Nnamdi Collins is on the verge of joining Eintracht Frankfurt for a fee in the region of one million euros.
Multiple reports in Germany claim that Nnamdi Collins is set to leave Borussia Dortmund, with Eintracht Frankfurt closing in on his signature. The highly rated centre-back will join the Eagles on a five year contract, and BVB will receive a fee of around one million euros for his sale.
Collins was considered to be one of the most talented young players to come through the Borussia Dortmund youth team ranks and also captained the U-19s team last season.
Collins even attracted the interest of Chelsea and Manchester City in 2020, but ultimately decided to sign a professional contract with Borussia Dortmund. But now with just one year left on his current contract, the 19 year old is set to leave the Black and Yellows.
According to Sport1, Eintracht Frankfurt beat out competition from AS Roma to secure Collins’ signature. The plan is for him to initially go out on loan and get some regular first-team minutes under his belt.
Nnamdi Collins featured for the Borussia Dortmund first-team in a number of friendly matches, but didn’t get the opportunity to play for the club in a competitive game. He made 57 appearances for the BVB U-19s and helped them win the U-19s Bundesliga title last year.
Collins will now hope to take the next steps in his development in the coming months and make his mark in the Eintracht Frankfurt first-team.
