Marcel Sabitzer’s addition seems like a smart move

One of the more surprising signings of the summer was the arrival of Marcel Sabitzer. These days it usually takes weeks of rumors and plenty of negotiation talks before a transfer is completed. Sabitzer’s move to BVB happened rather fast and without much fuss.

Initially, there was a difference in opinion among BVB fans over whether Sabitzer was the right player for the midfield. Of course, it’s impossible to say that he has responded to all the critics with his pre-season performances. But we have already been given a glimpse of what he is capable of producing.

Reports are suggesting that both Brandt and Sabitzer will start the season in midfield, with Can in the number six role. This tactic might offer BVB more creativity from midfield. Both Sabitzer and Brandt are players who can make a positive impact in the final third and are skilled at progressive play.

Terzic had some words of praise about Sabitzer after the Chelsea game: “He can take on a leading role from the beginning. Marcel performed really well, showed good movement without the ball, switched flanks, and went firmly into the challenges.”

Now if the Austrian international can build on his promising start, he can well establish himself as the ideal Jude Bellingham replacement at Borussia Dortmund.
