Opinion: Borussia Dortmund’s ideal XI for the 2023/24 season

With key departures in Jude Belligham and Raphael Guerreiro, Borussia Dortmund are once again a side in transition. Key addition Ramy Bensabaini should affect the teams defensive stability while Marcel Sabitzer and Felix Nmecha will compete for minutes in a midfield which should have more depth.

With some of Dortmund’s main stars now having departed, the question is: How will the club line up to replace them and their overall output? Terzic established a system last campaign with well defined roles and a definite first choice 11. Now with added depth and some new faces that system will be tweaked and tinkered with to get the most out of the squad Terzic has available to him.

Given the fact that the club has made these new additions, we take a look at how that will affect the shape of the team this coming season and who will step in to  replace the likes of Jude Bellingham and Raphael Guerreiro in the starting 11.
