Goalkeeper: Gregor Kobel

The position that picks itself, Gregor Kobel is Dortmund’s number one. Aside from the two matches in which he returned from injuries, Kobel was almost without fault. Now vice captain, Kobel at just 24 will look to improve on a fantastic season in which he was in the top 91% for post shot expected goals saved.

Kobel played 27/34 matches last campaign despite his injury issues, but the only worry for Kobel’s place in the team would be if those injuries were to continue. After being sidelined during the club’s pre season tour in the US, Kobel looks like he may make a return for Dortmund’s DFB Pokal clash against Schott Mainz after training with the squad earlier this week. With his worst performances in his first match back from injuries Dortmund will hope he can break that trend should he start against the Regionalliga side.
