Predicted Borussia Dortmund lineup vs FC Köln
By Brook Genene
Borussia Dortmund will kick-off their Bundesliga campaign on Saturday in the Topspiel as they host the Billy Goats. The Black and Yellows beat their opponents 6-1 in this fixture last season and will hope to repeat that performance to start the new campaign.
On Thursday, Edin Terzic revealed that Borussia Dortmund will definitely be without Julien Durnaville, Gio Reyna, and Thomas Meunier on Saturday. Felix Nmecha (ankle problem) and Karim Adeyemi (muscular injury) are also doubts ahead of the game. But Terzic said that he hopes the duo can recover in time to return to the squad on Saturday.
Niklas Süle, who was substituted in the DFB-Pokal tie after 30 minutes, returned to team training on Wednesday. So he should be able to feature against Köln.
Here we take a look at how Borussia Dortmund could line up for their Bundesliga matchday one clash against FC Köln.
Goalkeeper: Gregor Kobel
Gregor Kobel returned ahead of schedule and started in the DFB-Pokal first round tie last weekend. The Swiss international, who has been a reliable presence between the posts since his move from Stuttgart two years ago, is expected to play a huge role as BVB try to go one further from last season and win the Bundesliga title.
