Borussia Dortmund player ratings from unconvincing 1-0 win over FC Köln
By Tushar Bahl
Julian Ryerson (6/10)
Ryerson ran up and down the right wing with great speed and tenacity. While his poor decision making made him rather ineffective, he still put in a reliable shift for the team.
Niklas Süle (6/10)
Süle made a vital block to prevent Selke from giving Köln the lead in the 17th minute. He did not do much wrong on the defensive side of things, but will need to offer more in terms of building play out from the back in the coming weeks.
Mats Hummels (7/10)
Hummels played some gorgeous forward passes and also performed his defensive duties really well for the most part. He made a number of vital challenges and interceptions over the course of the game, with the most important one coming in the 95th minute.
Ramy Bensebaini (6/10)
Bensebaini offered more of a threat going forward than Ryerson. But his decision making wasn’t always the best. He was solid defensively, and will now look to build on that in the next few games.
