Emre Can (5/10)

Can put in an improved shift in defensive midfield after his struggles last weekend. But he still failed to prevent Köln from gaining a foothold in the middle of the park. He also struggled to bring much rhythm to BVB’s build-up play. And Edin Terzic decided to replace him with Felix Nmecha at the hour mark.

Marcel Sabitzer (5/10)

Making his Bundesliga debut for Borussia Dortmund, Sabitzer was rather overwhelmed and failed to offer his side any control in midfield. Perhaps it was the lack of support or link-up opportunities, but the Austrian international wasn’t able to make his mark on the game.

Marco Reus (4/10)

Reus made a bright start but the game quickly passed him by. He didn’t manage to make any real impact on the game, and was replaced by Karim Adeyemi as Borussia Dortmund searched for a breakthrough in the second half.
