Midfielders: Emre Can, Marcel Sabitzer, Julian Brandt
Many have questioned the BVB midfield and the much-needed balance and quality in that area since the Köln game. Emre Can has yet to replicate his brilliant form of the second half of last season and the absence of Jude Bellingham is already taking its toll on the team.
The Borussia Dortmund midfield lacked control and poise against Köln. There was no fluidity and BVB showed an evident inability to progress the ball. This will be an area of concern for Terzic and it once again raises the question of whether Can is the right player for the number six position.
Despite that, Borussia Dortmund aren’t expected to make any big changes to the midfield three on Saturday with Felix Nmecha likely to make an appearance in the second half.
Julian Brandt will likely move to a more natural midfield role after being used out wide initially last weekend. It will be interesting to see how Marcel Sabitzer fares after a rather underwhelming Bundesliga debut.
