Borussia Dortmund were dealt an early blow in their hopes of winning the Bundesliga title this season as they were held to a 1-1 draw by VfL Bochum.

Borussia Dortmund’s below par start to the season continued on Saturday as they dropped points away to local rivals VfL Bochum. The Black and Yellows were lucky to come away with a 1-1 draw, with a combination of the woodwork and Gregor Kobel preventing them from suffering what would have been a well deserved defeat.

Other than a ten-minute period in the second half, BVB were dominated by a resilient Bochum side who played with great tenacity. Edin Terzic’s side looked lifeless in midfield and toothless in attack, and there is plenty of work to be done if they are to challenge for the Bundesliga title this season.

Here are our player ratings from Borussia Dortmund’s 1-1 draw against Bochum.

Gregor Kobel (7/10)

Kobel was caught out by Stöger’s blistering strike in the first half. But Borussia Dortmund would almost certainly have lost the game had it not been for his excellent saves, especially in the second half.
