How will Niclas Füllkrug fit in at Borussia Dortmund?

Borussia Dortmund made the rather peculiar decision to sign Niclas Füllkrug on the penultimate day of the summer transfer window. Here we take a look at where he might fit in with the Black and Yellows.
When transfer deadline day approached, Borussia Dortmund fans were hoping that the club would work on strengthening the glaring issues and deficiencies in the back-line. There were rumors linking the club with highly rated centre-back Armel Bella-Kotchap from Southampton. The 21 year old was considered as shrewd signing for the future who could have potentially replaced Mats Hummels in the long run and would have offered some much-needed depth in defence.
However, the deal failed to materialise and Borussia Dortmund instead chose to bolster their attacking ranks by securing the services of last season’s Bundesliga top scorer Niclas Füllkrug.
Despite his age not being ideal, Füllkrug is a top striker who has shown his quality at Bremen over the last couple of seasons. He also earned a call-up to the German national team ahead of the FIFA World Cup last year thanks to his performances.
However, with Sebastien Haller and Youssoufa Moukoko already in the Borussia Dortmund squad, it remains to be seen how Edin Terzic plans to use Füllkrug.
