How will Niclas Füllkrug fit in at Borussia Dortmund?

The signing of Niclas Füllkrug poses more questions than solutions

Niclas Füllkrug’s introduction despite his obvious qualities poses more questions than solutions for Borussia Dortmund. The fact that the club chose not to strengthen their defence or add depth in central midfield despite the obvious problems in the first three league games of the season is a big worry.

Terzic is already under the microscope and the pressure will keep mounting if the issues are not addressed. The latest collapse against Heidenheim in which BVB led 2-0 at half-time, only to draw the game showed the lack of decisiveness upfront and the absence of calmness at the back.

Borussia Dortmund are currently not where they want to be. Following Jude Bellingham’s big-money departure, it was thought that decent replacements would be acquired to strengthen the team and for them to once again challenge for the title.

But the deals the club managed to secure were underwhelming and it is showing on the pitch. Whether Füllkrug will be able to offer a solution to the club’s issues is something we will have to keep an eye on.
