The new Bundesliga season is well underway and the transfer window is shut, which gives us a chance to evaluate Borussia Dortmund’s signings this summer under Edin Terzić.

The wounds of last season’s failure to capture the Bundesliga title were only further opened by the departure of Jude Bellingham. A double blow like this can only be remedied with good reinvestment, another fight for the Bundesliga title and a good run in the Champions League. However, things appear to be looking bleak for the Black and Yellows just one month into the new season.

Even though Edin Terzić publicly expressed his satisfaction with the squad at his disposal before the Bundesliga season got underway, their fortunes and demeanour on and off the pitch have been subsequently underwhelming.

The club has faced much criticism in the way that it has conducted its business under the management of Hans-Joachim Watzke, Sebastian Kehl and Edin Terziç. This has unfairly put intense pressure on the four new players that have arrived, to gel with the squad and make an instant impact.

Given how heavily the clubs competing around Borussia Dortmund – such as Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen – have strengthened themselves despite their own setbacks, we could potentially see Edin Terziç’s side fighting for European qualification come May.

Here, we will evaluate all of Borussia Dortmund’s signings this summer.
