Emre Can (4/10)

Can put in a hard-working shift for his team, but his performance again left a lot to be desired. He did not make any major errors but also failed to make a real impact on the game. The BVB captain also picked up his fourth yellow card of the season before being subbed off late in the game.

Marcel Sabitzer (5/10)

Sabitzer once again failed to stamp his authority on the game, although Nicolas Höfler’s foul on him resulted in Freiburg going down to ten men. He will need to offer more in the build-up play if Borussia Dortmund are to be successful this season.

Julian Brandt (6/10)

Brandt was once again Borussia Dortmund’s creator in-chief and delivered some threatening set-pieces in the first-half. His crosses are becoming more and more dangerous, which is a very encouraging sign for the team. He wasn’t able to get as involved from open play, which is the frustrating part. But it was still a fairly decent performance from the Germany international.
