Karim Adeyemi (3/10)

Adeyemi’s underwhelming start to the season continued as he failed to make any real impact on the game. The winger looked lacklustre in and around the box and also made a number of unnecessary fouls, including the one that resulted in Freiburg’s second goal. Borussia Dortmund looked a lot more dangerous after he was substituted.

Donyell Malen (7/10)

Malen once again came up with a decisive goal for Borussia Dortmund. He looked direct and lively, even if he struggled to link up with his teammates in the first-half. But his one-two with Füllkrug for BVB’s second goal was the best move of the game.

Sebastien Haller (4/10)

Haller had a couple of decent involvements in the first-half but his hard work did not result in any real openings for Borussia Dortmund. Niclas Füllkrug looked a lot more lively after replacing him at the hour mark.

Marius Wolf (6/10)

Wolf set up Marco Reus for Borussia Dortmund’s fourth goal. He had a few nervy moments defensively, but managed to get away with them.

Niclas Füllkrug (7/10)

Füllkrug made his presence felt instantly after coming on, as he tried to make things happen and also assisted the second goal.

Felix Nmecha (6/10)

Nmecha helped set up the equalising goal for Borussia Dortmund.
