Report: Borussia Dortmund not averse to selling Youssoufa Moukoko for big fee
By Tushar Bahl
Borussia Dortmund are said to be open to letting out-of-favour striker Youssoufa Moukoko leave the club for a sizeable fee.
It has been a frustrating start to the season for Youssoufa Moukoko, who has been limited to just 61 minutes of playing time so far. The 18 year old was an unused substitute against both Paris Saint-Germain and Wolfsburg last week, with Edin Terzic preferring to use Niclas Füllkrug and Sebastien Haller up front.
The highly rated striker’s future at Borussia Dortmund is now being put into doubt by SportBILD. The magazine claims that the BVB bosses are currently not quite satisfied with Moukoko’s development, and they would not be averse to letting him leave the club for a substantial transfer fee.
Youssoufa Moukoko only signed a contract extension with Borussia Dortmund in January, and has more than two years left on his current deal. He has been linked with the likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool, FC Barcelona and Chelsea in recent months.
Moukoko showed his quality on his only start of the season so far by netting a brace for the Germany U-21s in their Euro U-21s qualifier against Kosovo earlier this month.
The striker undoubtedly has the attributes and potential to establish himself as Borussia Dortmund’s first-choice striker. But he has not been given an extended run in the team since the turn of the year. It remains to be seen if that will change in the coming weeks, with Füllkrug and Haller both ahead of him in the pecking order.
