Borussia Dortmund have extended Jamie Bynoe-Gittens’ contact until 2028
Borussia Dortmund have extended the contract of talented English winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens until 2028.
Borussia Dortmund have made managed to secure one of their promising attacking talents down to a new long term deal. Jamie Bynoe-Gittens is said to have signed a contract through 2028 with the club.
Bynoe-Gittens joined Dortmund’s academy from Manchester City’s youth setup and has since made his way into Dortmund’s senior squad. So far, the young Englishman has struggled to stamp his place in the starting 11 but has certainly shown flashes of brilliance that exemplify just how much potential he really has. This season, we’ve seen a bit of what he can do on the pitch, particularly in Dortmund’s clash with Wolfsburg a couple weeks back. Bynoe-Gittens made his presence known to the Wolfsburg defense, constantly running at them and taking players on to put himself in dangerous positions. His time on the pitch really gave Wolfsburg something to think about and kept the opposition on their toes.
There were some general rumors surrounding Arsenal and their possible interest in making a move for the player, but this contract extension will likely quell most doubt over the youngster’s future. Dortmund’s move to make sure he remains at the club for the long haul is a sign that the club have quite a bit of confidence in him, and that we should see his integration into the squad continue on a positive manner.
Sporting Director Sebastian Kehl spoke in glowing terms of JBG, but noted that he is still not the finished article and will need tomorrow to develop further:
"“We are convinced that his development is far from complete and are pleased that Jamie has decided ahead of time for a long-term future at BVB despite the great interest of several top clubs in Europe.”"
It’s is the hope that moving forward, Bynoe-Gittens is given more opportunities to showcase the promise his skills on the pitch hold and develop into one of Europe’s top young wingers in the process.
