Emre Can (5/10)

Can returned to the side but failed to provide the impetus Edin Terzic was hoping for. He misplaced a number of passes and was unable to make any real impact going forward. The BVB captain has endured a difficult start to the season, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he dropped to the bench again this weekend.

Salih Özcan (6/10)

Özcan put in another resolute performance in the number six role. The Turkish international did his job well and broke up a number of Milan attacks. He was also clever in transition and offered security to the BVB midfield that had been missing in the first few games of the season.

Julian Brandt (6/10)

Brandt worked his way into the game and had some encouraging moments in the final third, including an acrobatic shot that went just over the bar. His impact was limited after the break, and he was replaced by Karim Adeyemi.
