15 Borussia Dortmund players called up for international duty

A total of 15 Borussia Dortmund players will be away with their national teams, as club football takes a break for the next two weeks.

Mats Hummels has sealed a spectacular return to the Germany squad after being called up by new head coach Julian Nagelsmann for the friendly matches against the USMNT and Mexico. Julian Brandt, Niklas Süle, and Niclas Füllkrug will also make the trip to the United States.

Karim Adeyemi and Youssoufa Moukoko will be in action for the Germany U-21s as they face Bulgaria in the U-21s European Championship qualifiers.

Gio Reyna is back in the USMNT set-up for their friendly matches against Germany and Ghana. The attacking midfielder will be aiming to make a strong impression after recovering from his leg injury.

Julian Ryerson will be looking to continue his impressive run of form as he represents Norway in their crunch Euro 2024 qualifiers against Cyprus and Spain. Donyell Malen has been called up by the Netherlands for their European Championship qualifiers against France and Greece.

Gregor Kobel will hope to feature for Switzerland as they take on Belarus. Salih Özcan and Turkey will go up against Croatia and Latvia as they look to secure their place in next year’s European Championship.

Algeria have called up Ramy Bensebaini for their friendly matches against Cape Verde and Egypt. While Sebastien Haller is part of the Ivory Coast squad for their friendlies against Morocco and South Africa.

Marcel Sabitzer has also been called up for international duty even though he is still recovering from the injury he suffered last month. Austria are due to face Belgium and Azerbaijan in the Euro 2024 qualifiers. Jamie Bynoe-Gittens has once again been named in the England U-21s squad. He will hope to make a good impression in the games against Serbia and Ukraine.
