Three English Premier League clubs were said to be interested in signing Jamie Bynoe-Gittens before he signed a contract extension with Borussia Dortmund.

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens extended his contract with Borussia Dortmund earlier this month, putting pen to paper on a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2028. The England U-21s international rejected interest from three English Premier League clubs to stay with the Black and Yellows.

According to BILD, Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle United were all seriously interested in signing Bynoe-Gittens. And one top team even made intensive efforts to sign him.

This was also confirmed by sporting director Sebastian Kehl, who said, “we are delighted that Jamie (Bynoe-Gittens) has decided ahead of time to pursue a long-term future with BVB, despite strong interest from several top clubs in Europe.”

The tabloid adds that Bynoe-Gittens tripled his salary with the contract extension, and will now earn three million euros per year plus performance related bonuses.

Bynoe-Gittens joined Borussia Dortmund in 2020 from Manchester City, and broke into the first-team less than two years later.

The highly rated winger has made a total of 29 first-team appearances for BVB so far, scoring three goals and assisting one. He has shown flashes of his incredible potential, although injuries have prevented him from making a bigger impact.
