The season is not even half-way done yet, but a few interesting patterns have already emerged with the Borussia Dortmund squad. With new signings coming in and some established names having difficulty getting into the team amid a host of big changes, we take a look at the winners and losers of the season so far.

It might be too soon to state that any player has a guaranteed spot in the Borussia Dortmund XI, except for maybe Gregor Kobel. Simultaneously, a player like Karim Adeyemi has not necessarily lost his shot at getting regular minutes despite his struggles this season.

Overall, the team’s performances have also left a lot to be desired. But there has been an upswing in results, and the Black and Yellows find themselves right in the mix of things at the top of the Bundesliga standings.

Many factors can affect player performance levels, such as psychological, physical, or even personal issues. It is always important to balance expectations while distinguishing any player’s current form from their previous performances.
