Key dates revealed for 2024/25 Bundesliga season

The DFL has announced the key dates for the 2024/25 Bundesliga season, which will get off to a later start due to the European Championship.
The 2024/25 Bundesliga season will get underway on Friday, August 23, 2024. It has been announced by the DFL that matchday one of the 2024/25 Bundesliga season will take place from August 23-25.
The 2024/25 season will get off to a slightly later start in order to give players a summer break after Euro 2024, which will take place in Germany from June 14 to July 14.
As always, Bundesliga clubs will begin the season in the first round of the DFB-Pokal, which will take place from August 16-19, 2024. The 2024/25 DFB-Pokal final will take place on May 24, 2024.
The DFL-Supercup will be held on the same weekend, with the winners of this season’s Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal set to face off in that match. Teams involved in the DFL-Supercup match will play their Pokal first round ties on August 27/28.
The winter break for the 2024/25 season is scheduled to begin after matchday 15 in the Bundesliga, on December 23, 2024. The season will resume on January 10, 2025. Matchday 34 of the 2024/25 season is scheduled for Saturday, May 17, 2025.

The European football calendar is also set for a massive change next season with the revamp in the format of the three UEFA competitions. A total of 36 teams will be involved in the UEFA Champions League, with every club playing a total of eight matches in the league stage. So a packed fixture list is sure to await Borussia Dortmund if they qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
