Report: Youssoufa Moukoko ‘annoyed and disappointed’ with lack of playing time at Borussia Dortmund
By Tushar Bahl
Youssoufa Moukoko is seemingly unhappy with his lack of playing time at Borussia Dortmund, and a move away from the club in January appears increasingly likely.
With Niclas Füllkrug and Sebastien Haller both ahead of him in the pecking order for strikers, Youssoufa Moukoko has found playing time very hard to come by this season. The 18 year old has been on the pitch for just 66 minutes so far in this campaign, and hasn’t featured in the Bundesliga since his six-minute cameo against SC Freiburg last month.
A report from BILD claims that Moukoko feels extremely annoyed and disappointed that he does not get any playing time at Borussia Dortmund despite impressing during training sessions.
While Moukoko has struggled for minutes with the Black and Yellows, he has made a big impact while playing for the Germany U-21s this season. The highly rated striker has five goals in his last two appearances for Antonio di Salvo’s side.
It has been reported in recent weeks that Borussia Dortmund would be willing to part ways with Youssoufa Moukoko if they were to receive a substantial transfer fee. The tabloid speculates that a loan move to a smaller club in the January transfer window appears increasingly likely so that he can gain more playing time.
Werder Bremen and FC Köln were interested in signing Moukoko on loan towards the end of the summer transfer window. He was also linked with a move to the likes of Chelsea, Real Madrid and RB Leipzig before extending his contract with Borussia Dortmund at the start of this year.
