Borussia Dortmund’s winning run will be put through a stern test on Sunday as they take on Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga.

The Black and Yellows will hope to continue their charge for the Bundesliga title this weekend as they make the trip to Eintracht Frankfurt. Having found their form in recent weeks, Borussia Dortmund will hope to maintain their run against the Eagles, who have taken some big strides under Dino Toppmöller this season.

Borussia Dortmund will continue to sweat on the fitness of Emre Can and Julian Brandt ahead of the game. Julian Ryerson is also a doubt due to illness, having already missed Wednesday’s trip to Newcastle United. Edin Terzic said during his pre-match press conference that they will not take any fitness risks, with the team facing a packed fixture list.

Here we take a look at how Borussia Dortmund could line up for their Bundesliga clash against Eintracht Frankfurt this weekend.

Gregor Kobel delivered a world-class performance against Newcastle United earlier this week, and will start between the sticks again on Sunday.

Julian Ryerson will hope to recover from his illness and start at right-back. But if the Norwegian international cannot play against Eintracht, Marius Wolf will keep his place in the starting XI.

Mats Hummels and Nico Schlotterbeck have formed an excellent partnership at centre-back in recent weeks. It remains to be seen if Edin Terzic will look to rest one of them on Sunday or wait till Wednesday’s DFB-Pokal tie against TSG Hoffenheim.

Ramy Bensebaini looks set to start at left-back, where he could be in for an intriguing battle against former Borussia Dortmund winger Ansgar Knauff.

In midfield, Salih Özcan should come into the starting XI in place of Emre Can after the club captain was forced to come off against Newcastle.

Felix Nmecha should keep his place in the starting XI after scoring the winning goal on Wednesday. Marcel Sabitzer is also expected to play from the start after his solid performance in midfield against Newcastle. Although a lot will also depend on the in-form Julian Brandt’s availability.

We could see a change or two to the front three, with Marco Reus a candidate for a breather. Gio Reyna could be an option for the starting XI after coming off the bench to good effect in recent games.

Donyell Malen should start out wide once again, where he will hope to find his form again after going seven games without a goal or an assist. Niclas Füllkrug is likely to start in the number nine role once again, with Sebastien Haller and Youssoufa Moukoko waiting in reserve.
